Born in Cotacachi, Ecuador, Edgar Muenala is a Vancouver-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Edgar is a pan flute extraordinaire who combines ancient tunes with new sensibility. Edgar relates to music much in the way of an ongoing journey. Drawing inspiration from his homeland, he creates musical fusions with sounds from around the world. He has collaborated with musicians from different cultures, bringing together wide range of instruments in his performances and incorporating rhythms and melodies from different lands, as well as electronic processing, to form his own style. Immensely popular on social media, Edgar’s music videos on Facebook have reached 9.5 million viewers and on Youtube 2.3 million viewers. He was featured at the stage of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
